Choose from our selection of self-catering river-view chalets, comfortable backpacker chalets, caravan and camping facilities, or our spacious three-bedroom luxury self-catering house. Many of our units feature private verandas overlooking the Crocodile River, where guests can relax while watching our famous resident hippos and the spectacular birdlife that call the river home.

Our modern, air-conditioned conference and function venue comfortably accommodates 50 - 60 guests and is equipped with a large projector screen, multimedia projector, food serving counters, and a fully licensed bar. Ideal for conferences, corporate events, training sessions, celebrations, private functions, and team-building events, with customised catering packages available.

Fishing

Cast a line from the banks of the Crocodile River and enjoy one of the Lowveld's most peaceful fishing experiences. The river is home to catfish (barbel), eel, carp, and yellowfish, making it a favourite destination for both experienced anglers and casual fishermen.

Day Visitors

Visitors are welcome to enjoy the facilities at Hippo Waterfront Lodge. Pre-booking is essential, with a minimum of six guests per group. As we offer a fully licensed bar and restaurant, outside food, drinks, and cooler boxes are unfortunately not permitted.

Swimming Pool Guidelines

To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, we kindly request that the following rules be observed:

• No glass bottles or containers are permitted in or around the pool area. Plastic glasses are provided.
• Hippo Waterfront Lodge is a peaceful retreat; excessive alcohol consumption, loud music, and pool parties are not permitted.
• Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
• The pool may not be used during thunderstorms or severe weather conditions.
• Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times.
• Management reserves the right to restrict pool access should these guidelines not be observed.
